would someone please verify and explain the following wts theocratic arrangement for me.
it is my understanding that the fds is made up of all members of the anointed who are on earth (wt march 1,2004 page 10 par.
9), and that this fds class is represented on earth by the governing body.
Bud,
Welcome aboard.
Good post.
The May WT is so dynamic: it is the foundation for some HEAVY mutations. This had to come about (as I have mentioned on this board a few times) because the numbers were not working.
The mutaion, I believe, will end up with the "tribes" of Revalation being "all of Jehovah's people." The 144,000 will be either symbolic or literal and, still, represent the heavenly class. The FDS will be those in positions of leadership. All, earthly and heavenly, will be in the New Covenant. All will partake of the bread and wine at the bastardized Lord's Meal the JWs hold annually.
I will be stunned if the above does not happen.....
Some thoughts,
V PS: keep posting...
perhaps this paradoxical "topic" is one with which we here have dealt a little more, or a little more consciously, than the average population.. we used to have our heads full of beliefs (which we called "truth") in every direction: on theology, on cosmology, on paleontology, on past history, on so-called prophetic future, on heaven above, on earth, on she'ol beneath.
on many things -- current events, traditions, other peoples' beliefs and behaviours -- we had strong opinions which were directly or indirectly (the famous "conscience" matters) part of the same deal.
and of course our life was filled with activities and relationships, a community of "friends," people to "help" or "teach," etc.. then, gradually or suddenly, we came to suspect, often with a measure of terror, that all of this was not what we had thought and might sooner or later turn into... nothing.. this "nothing" is perhaps one of the most scary thoughts to people contemplating leaving the org one way or another.
Found my Way,
Yours is the most profound reply I have yet to see on the board!!
Great job!!

Nark,
I just read your post and after several days of very little sleep, lots of stress, much worry, a lot of hard work, and just commenting on Jeff's post about ugly comments from Elders:
I must say this:
I did not understand a word of what you wrote, HOWEVER, it was very interesting. Be assurred of a re-read and a comment!

a young person who posts here has committed to a rehab program, very lonely and sad.
because of leaving the org, mr f and i are the only people who call, and no family or friends are calling or visiting.
(we are in calif, the rehab is in ontario).

Doug,
The "F and D S" is the most convoluted mess: if you pay attention.
Here is the short take, as I remember,
The total in Kingdom Rule is 144,00.
They are the FDS.
The GB is chosen from the FDS.
BOTH the FDS and the "domestics" have existed since 33 CE.
HERE is where it gets complicated: the "120" in the "upper room:" were the first "FDS." They "fed" the "domestics." Now, AT SOME POINT the "domestics" of the first century would HAVE to become the "FDS" to continue and enlarge the "domestics." Make sense?
There would HAVE to be a mutation from one group to the other. This, to my knowledge is never discussed. Also, this "FDS"/"domestics" relationship is not plainly explained. The FDS members are ALSO "domestics" in the sense that they are, too, "fed" by the Org. But, in this case WHO is the one feeding????
There is NO WAY a sane person can make sense of the reasoning on this topic.
"Jehovah's people" can make perfect sense of it.
Reach your own conclusion from here....

this is the first time that all the numbers were good.
bd and i must be doing something right.. .
i left the wtb&ts 24 years ago after being a full time pioneer for 15 years and have never looked back.
i have no family "in" and have moved very far away from the congro i left.
no one here knows i used to be in this cult.. i experienced the usual shunning from the members of the congro i went to and from surrounding congregations (the city i lived in was big and had several khs), but it didn't last long because i moved away shortly after the "big announcement".
There is a lot of "residue" that lingers post exiting and, you are dealing with some, now.
I wish you empathy and patieince: mainly with yourself.
It is part of the process....wish it were easier.
Your are interacting with folks that understand and care as the posts above indicate.
Hang tough,
V
when i was in the 6 grade, i went to school with a girl who was a catholic.
one day she brought to school her rosery beads.
being raised as a jw i had never before seen this thing.
Irish,
Do a search on the history of the rosery. Pretty interesting.
I use to laugh at the concept of a "prayer discipline." Now, I appreciate that thought so much.
Hope all is well,
V
